Fuquay-Varina's Senior Day

The Fuquay-Varina Growers Market hosted its 3rd Annual Senior Day on June 8th, 2024, focusing on economically disadvantaged seniors facing food insecurity. Thanks to generous support from volunteers, financial sponsors, and local organizations, the event provided 150 seniors with $30 in market vouchers and free groceries!  All visiting seniors enjoyed free ice cream, resources, and raffle prizes.

One senior attendee expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, "We seniors are often the forgotten ones, but this day was incredibly special for us. Thank you for making us feel valued and appreciated."

We are thrilled to announce an encore of Senior Day, thanks to a generous $1,500 donation from Hope Community Church Fuquay-Varina. This donation will fund produce baskets distributed by our farmers for homebound seniors. This connection was made possible through our membership with the Southern Regional Food Security Group, allowing us to collaborate with Pastor Tim Eplin of Hope Community Church.
